About Eden House

Eden House is a spacious detached cottage in Bardsea near Ulverston, sleeping 14 guests across six bedrooms. Eden House was perfect for our family get together. Our grandchildren loved visiting the animals at the farm and the hot tub and sauna were very welcome little luxuries. The kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. In our party a couple more double beds would have been useful but it didnt impact our weekend. Overall we had a very pleasant stay
We were a family of 10 all adults and 1 dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eden House and had loads of room to spread out. Bedrooms were light and airy and outdoor space was amazing. We really enjoyed the kitchen as it had everything we needed and we ended up spending most of our time just sat around the large kitchen table chatting. Hot tub and sauna really made us feel like we were in a health club retreat. Loved the animals and it was lovely to see them just wondering around the grounds. House is near most amenities and a good distance for travelling to the many attractions Cumbria has to offer. We would definitely recommend the house to friends and family and we hope to visit again soon xx
We really enjoyed our stay at Eden House. The property was a perfect size for our group of 6 adults and 5 children. The hot tub and sauna were definitely a treat for us all and the table tennis was a hit with the kids. The property was really well equipped, with a really large fridge which was helpful. Would have been good to have a frying pan and maybe some saltpepperoil which we could have used. The property is situated in a good location in the Southern lakes for a walk along the coast to a stone circle straight from the property and about 30 minutes drive to Coniston Water. We would recommend the property to other groups.

Lovely place for us all for a few days. Hot tub was lovely. Lots of equipment in the kitchen which was a big plus. Beds comfy. Little farm was an added bonus. The listing states in one place that there are 4 bathrooms and then when detailing the layout of the property, only give details of 3. There are 3 bathroomsshower rooms inc the ensuite and 2 separate toilets. This was a little misleading. Couldnt get the jets on the bath to work, but that may have been a user error

A very spacious house for the 12 of us. We enjoyed the facilities and the grounds. It was well heated, clean and comfortable, although the hot water in the kitchen was temperamental at times!
Stayed here for my mum's 60th birthday celebrations, brilliant location, lovley grounds. The house is very well equipped with everything you need. Clean and comfortable! Highly recommend for a large group.

Eden House was a perfect getaway for a larger group and dog. The bedrooms were spacious and the garden was also fantastic and had a lot to offer. With the addition of a hot tub and sauna, it really made our long weekend an amazing stay and we all had a brilliant time, not to mention the little piglets! The only small feedback I would offer is that there could be some basics added to the property, like tea and coffee, salt and pepper and some cleaning products, so we can make the place tidy before we leave. Other than that, the cooking facilities were amazing, especially for larger groups and we really did have the best time!

The house is beautiful and catered for all our needs. I certainly would recommend Eden house to friends and family! The only negative feedback is that we would have appreciated more toilet rolls being provided. Especially considering the fact that our group included 3 children.

It was a fabulous place to stop. Everything you could possibly need. I would say we did need to go to Booths and purchase more logs for the sauna which delayed our enjoyment but that's a minor issue. There are parts that need attention, for eg cup marks on the dressers, scuff marks etc but nothing that reduced our enjoyment. Eden Lodge looks fab, we might save up for a return visit there.
14 of us girls stayed for a 60th birthday celebration, we all had a fantastic time, house is very well equipped with everything we needed, hot tub was so lovely even though it was freezing outside, just wish we had remembered to bring extra wood for the sauna. Loved all the animals in the grounds especially the peacocks, will definitely book again, highly recommended

We had no hot water on our first morning, I called the number supplied and they came to investigate very quickly. All bar the downstairs shower were OK after that and I let the gentleman know when we leaving. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything you needed for cooking etc. All the beds we used were very comfortable and the linens and towels supplied were spotless and of a high quality. We all enjoyed our stay. Just a few too many signs for us, charges would occur if property left in a mess and don't open doors as noise carrues etc. These issues were addressed on our booking and it did make us feel awkward.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Eden House! Ive stayed here or at the Eden Lodge on the same property almost every summer for the past 10 years, and I always look forward to coming back. The rooms are comfortable and quiet there were 12 of us total this year. The dinein kitchen is huge with a beautiful setup dream kitchen for me and a nice gathering area. The ground level has a sitting room with several couches and chairs that leads into the sunroom with table tennis plus the hot tub and sauna are a nice bonus. Eden House has a lot of space for a large group of people. The grounds also have plenty of outdoor sitting areas, and in recent years, weve enjoyed the addition of the farm animals including sheep, pigs, chickens, goats and peacocks. Fabrizio, the caretaker, and Ernst, the owner, are also very responsive if any issues arise, though weve never had any major issues thanks so much to them for making Eden House available to us, year after year. Highly recommend Eden House and Eden Lodge!

We celebrated my mums 85th birthday there was 14 of us Eden House was perfect for our weekend the hot tub snd sauna was a bonus. The house was well equipped with everything we needed.Eden farm was a favourite place with my 3 grandchildren they loved that walking through the grounds .
Lovely, well equipped house. good base for exploring the area. plenty of space for extended family of 10,and the kids enjoyed the games room and looking round the grounds at the animals.we also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna was lovely. it was not as secluded as expected from the pictures. there were 2 smaller properties close by which were accessed by walking through the bbq seating area at the back and the side of the saunahot tub.

We have just celebrated my daughters 40th birthday here with all our family and wasn't dissapointed . Eden house is lovely plenty of room for the family the children loved looking at the animals each day . Hot tub was used every day . The kitchen was amazing we could all sit round the table for meals which we enjoyed spending time with everyone I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to spend time with there family and the lake district .

Despite contacting the maintenance man who checked everything we had no hot water for about 3 days, which was not acceptable considering there was 13 of us who needed to shower regularly especially after being in hot tub. Showering 6 children in cold to luke warm water is not good. Lovely house but water issue definitely spoilt it for us

Loved Eden house and the surroundings. Spent a week with family and friends. Lots of space for everyone. Loved the kitchen, it had everything you needed. Massive fridgefreezer. The kitchen was on the upper floor but it worked. Hot tub was great, the wood fired sauna was a win with lots of us. They provided a starter pack, you do need to bring more, which we did BBQ area is great too. Loved all the animals in the grounds too! Bardsea is a lovely place. We would definitely go back.

We had a brilliant week away, 10 adults and 3 babies. The house had plenty of space and the kitchen was well stocked. Good bathroom access for all. The site was great hot tub and sauna easy to use and lots of fun! Mini farm was fantastic too for the kids and adults!. Also loved the location, a short walk to the beautiful Bardsea beach. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay at Eden Lodge, brilliant property, rural and quiet, great facilities and everyone loved it. The best parts were of course the sauna, hot tub and ping pong table which we made great use of. It would be good if there was an option to buy more firewood for the sauna, as trying to find some turned into a big part of one of our days. The kitchen and all the rooms were great sizes, plenty of bathrooms showers to go around and no one was on top of eachother, there was always space when you wanted it. 1010 stay, would recommend. On arrival on the doorstep was a wet towel and can of cola. So first impressions on cleanliness not good. The property itself had good facilities, hot water and beds fab. But the cleanliness of the place was not up to a good standard. The lounge floor had peanuts and bits from last booking. Lots of dust etc under beds. Ornaments and lamps needed a good clean. Mould in the ensuite ceiling. Mould in that bedroom above the single bed too. Overall great find just a shame about attention to detail for cleaning.
Fantastic stay with friends. Children loved helping to feed animals with Caroline who was so lovely with them. Kitchen was well equipped, however more tumblers and kids cupsplates would be a great edition if possible. Beds were comfortable, and the house was very clean tidy and warm. Hot tub and sauna were great asset. 1010 well be back next year for sure.

A great stay! Really impressed with how big the hot tub was. The sauna was a worry as we had to light it up ourselves, but actually it was easy and heated up well. The house was very clean and spacious. Our group all want to stay again! Great kitchen, had everything ! Fab fridgefreezer with ice dispenser. Only downside to the house was the kitchen being on the first floor and living area on the ground floor. But thats to personal choice and we did get used to it.

One issue was the temperature of the bedrooms, the upstairs was extremely hot whereas downstairs was very cold. Room 2 and 4 had a mouldy strange smell. Also the main oven didnt work, we did mention it to one of the men we saw in the garden but we managed with the other oven and hob. However this wouldnt stop us staying again and the downstairs ladies would bring warmer pjs. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely come back again
